Voice over is a second career for me. I graduated from Purdue University in 2001 with a BA in Secondary English Education and again in 2012 with a MS Ed in Language and Literacy. I have over 15 years’ experience teaching students from middle school through college and coaching student teachers. After a significant geographical relocation, I have put aside the majority of my teaching duties to focus on the one I love most – bringing reading to life! My greatest tool as a teacher was my voice. I introduced nearly everything my students read by giving voice to the characters and emotional range to the narration. Students took those characters home with them; as a result, they were more engaged with the novels and stories. Additionally, my students benefitted from hearing a fluent reader make sense of complex sentences in essays and define the cadence of poetry. Now I am focused on sharing that gift with a wider audience.
